Historic Ellensburg Walking Tours
The Kittitas County Historical Museum and Historic Ellensburg are pleased to present the first Historic Downtown Ellensburg Upstairs Walking Tour of 2009. Two guided tours will be led Saturday, May 16th, through the upstairs portions of historic buildings in downtown Ellensburg that have rarely been seen since the height of their use in the early 1900?s. Registration is still open and is only $10.00 per person, per tour. Space is limited, so call or swing by the Museum today! From 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Tanner Dotzauer and Fennelle Miller will lead a tour, providing an interesting perspective of the historic architecture of the Ellensburg Hotel, Ramsay Hardware, Elks Lodge, Stewart Building, and Masonic Temple. The afternoon tour, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., will be led by local historian, Milton Wagy, of the Ellensburg Public Library. With him, you will tour the New York Café, Children?s Museum, Geddis Block, Elmira Building, and Independent Order of Odd Fellows building. Prepare for a day of exploration, engaging stories, and insightful facts of and about the history of these buildings and the organizations that once resided in them!
