Kairos Quartet to Perform Annual Valentine?s Concert
Central Washington University?s Kairos Quartet will present its annual and always-popular Valentine's Day Concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 10. The concert will feature an evening of music and more, celebrating love both romantic and platonic.
The program will include selections from the quartets of Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel and Janacek, as well as audience favorites and romantic standards such as Pachabel's famous canon in D. The quartet will continue its tradition of reading selected poetry and audience members? contributed love notes.
Guest artists will also lend their sense of romance to the evening with tenor Tor Blaisdell, who will join the quartet for a passionate rendition of Puccini's celebrated aria "Nessun Dorma," and Nathalie Kasselis-Smith and Michael Smith with their rendition of French poetry in both the native tongue and English translation.
Don't be surprised if a few cherubs show up to hand out chocolates! What better way to herald the coming Valentine?s Day and get in a romantic mood! The concert is free and will be held in the CWU Music Building Concert Hall.
