CWU is proud to present author Buddy Levy reading from his books. ?Better than [historical novel] in recent memory, River of Darkness? is at once harrowing adventure and revealing history,? praises author James M. Tabor about Levy?s new novel, and Alex Shoumatoff of Vanity Fair adds, "River of Darkness [is] a riveting and irresistible read, narrative history of a literary quality rarely encountered.?
Along with the historical novels River of Darkness, and Conquistador, Levy has published two biographies of Davy Crockett and a memoir title Echoes on Rimrock. As a freelance journalist he has covered adventure sports and lifestyle/travel subjects around the world, and his magazine articles and essays have appeared in numerous periodicals. He is an associate professor of English at Washington State University and lives in northern Idaho with his wife and two children.
