Living with Predators

Please join Central Washington University's CERMA, the CERM Grad Program, and the Geography Department for a panel discussion on wildlife conflicts: Living with Predators. Predators can be found throughout Washington. From cougars found throughout the state, to wolves currently being recovered in central and eastern Washington, to grizzly bears, which U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service are considering recovering in the North Cascades. These animals undoubtedly serve important roles in ecosystems but as human development spreads, conflicts are bound to occur. Carol Bogezi, PhD candidate at the University of Washington will discuss her research finding ways to reduce these conflicts. We will then open up to a panel discussion, with perspectives from economic, ranching, state agency, and conservation viewpoints. Don't miss this unique event!
