MARK BITTMAN - Food Matters: A Guide to Conscious Eating
Mark Bittman, best-selling author and New York Times opinion columnist, is first to admit he's not a chef. One of the leading voices in the new food movement, Bittman is a visionary who wants to change the way America eats. His exploration of the links between food, health, and the environment has helped millions of people rethink their diets.
His passion for food and sustainable agriculture led him to the professional food writing business. In 1987 he became senior writer of Cook's and in 1990 he began writing for the New York Times. He's written several books, including The Food Matters Cookbook: 500 Revolutionary Recipes for Better Living, recently released in September of 2010. He will sign copies of the book after his talk, which will focus on sustainable farming and local food.
Bittman's television series includes Bittman Takes on America's Chefs, The Best Recipes in the World, Spain: On the Road Again, and an upcoming series based on his Minimalist column.
