Michael Partington performs with Kairos Quartet September 18, 2008 Contact: Carrie Rehkopf, (509) 963-1240, fax: (509) 963-1239, email: rehkopfc@cwu.edu ELLENSBURG, Wash.-The Department of Music?s Resident Chamber Ensemble, the Kairos Quartet, will inaugurate this year?s series of string quartet recitals with their first program on Wednesday, October 1st, at 7 pm in the Music Building Recital Hall. The Quartet has become established as one of the premier chamber groups in the state, and has begun to expand the repertoire they perform into contemporary and non-traditional styles. This recital promises to illustrate these explorations with an entertaining evening of music, as they will be joined by guitarist Michael Partington on a program of varied music that will include pieces by Boccherini and Piazzolla, as well as seven songs by the Beatles, written in the styles of different composers.
