Open House: Ellensburg Toastmasters Club
A good look at what Toastmasters is all about is on tap as Ellensburg Toastmasters invites the community to a free Open House event on Nov. 14. Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills, says event organizer Brandon Marsh. Guests will have the opportunity to experience a typical Toastmasters meeting. The meeting's Toastmaster of the day will explain roles played by several members to facilitate the meeting. In another portion of the meeting, evaluators will offer constructive evaluations of the speeches given earlier, and a General Evaluator will comment on the meeting as a whole. Guests can also experience Table Topics, in which a Topics Master presents topics to inspire 1-2-minute impromptu responses from members. Open House attendees can choose to participate in this off-the-cuff speaking opportunity. The Ellensburg Toastmasters Open House takes place at 6 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 14, Hal Homes Community Center, 209 N Ruby St, Ellensburg. Guests are welcome. Regular meetings are held weekly (Thursdays) at the same time and location; guests are welcome. More information: Brandon Marsh, marshbrandonc@gmail.com.
