The Top Hand Competition at the Operating Engineers’ Training Center will be held on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. This event is open to the public and is a rare opportunity to see heavy equipment and cranes up close and personal. Highly skilled Operating Engineer Union operators will display their talents as they go head-to-head in a contest operating various types of equipment to be crowned the best of the best.
A free lunch is provided as well as cotton candy, ice cream, popcorn, and beverages. A cash bar will be on site to serve adult drinks. During the event, there will be a hay ride to give a tour of the facility and equipment areas and an opportunity for the public to operate Excavators and Cranes for themselves. There is a separate kid area including: jumpy houses, hay hunt, face painting, balloon animals, sandbox fun, hard hat decorating, sporting games, kiddie pools, and more.
