PechaKucha vol. 12
Volume 12: ART IS FOR EVERYONE Ellensburg’s PechaKucha Night is coming to CWU! PechaKucha Nights involve a series of engaging, short presentations, usually focused on a theme. Since it began in 2015, the Ellensburg PechaKucha Night has been a way for community members to get to know each other and share ideas. Speakers: Nan Doolittle Jim Baugh Katharine Whitcomb Gregg Schlanger Lynn McCowin Garrett Babcock Sarah Bair Jason Clifton The theme for this PechaKucha Night is “Art is for Everyone.” Is “art” only for the so-called rich and famous? Who gets excluded from making, owning, and experiencing art? Who gets to say what is and is not “art”? To say “art is for everyone” is to project a hopeful vision that intersects with the important work of the MCE’s co-sponsor for this Pechakucha Night, Gallery One. To see videos of other PechaKucha events in Ellensburg, hosted by Gallery One, visit http://www.pechakucha.org/cities/ellensburg. Thanks to our co-sponsor for this event, Gallery One, as well as PechaKucha Ellensburg organizers Sara K. Jones and Monica Miller!
