On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, the CWU Philosophy & Religious Studies Department will be inviting Dr. Chong-Fuk Lau, from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, to lead our Spring 2017 Colloquium. Dr. Lau will discuss a new functionalist interpretation of Kant that aims to unify his cognitive psychology with his metaphysics. How must the human mind work in order to have cognition of objects? Answering this question gives Kant a clue to determine the basic structure of reality as we understand it. Chong-Fuk Lau is Professor of Philosophy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is the author of Hegels Urteilskritik (2004) and A New Interpretation of Hegel (2014, in Chinese), and has published many articles on German Idealism.
