Portland Baroque Orchestra at CWU
The CWU Music Department invites anyone looking for an evening of musical excellence to attend the Portland Baroque Orchestra?s performance of their show ?Vocal Concerto? Tuesday, April 8 at 7 p.m. in the CWU Jerilyn S. McIntyre Music Building Concert Hall. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors and students, free for CWU students with ID and are available at www.cwu.edu/tickets. Don?t miss this performance of traditional Baroque period music as it?s meant to be heard, played on instruments authentic to the time period. Unlike many of today?s orchestras, which use contemporary instruments, the Portland Baroque Orchestra (PBO) uses the same instruments Baroque period musicians used, like violins, lutes and organs. By using these instruments, PBO provides its audiences with the chance to experience the music as it was first heard four hundred years ago. Whether attending PBO?s performance having heard orchestras perform before or to experience an orchestra for the first time, every attendee is sure to leave the performance with their expectations more than exceeded.
