As a way of promoting inclusiveness of people of all sexual and gender orientations on the CWU campus, the Center for Diversity and Social Justice (CDSJ) has presented their Queer Film Series, which will conclude with the 2012 documentary Wildness. The film will be shown Tuesday, March 10 at 5 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) room 137. Attendance is free and open to the public. Wildness explores the underground of Los Angeles nightlife, specifically at the historic bar Silver Platter, which has been a home for Latin/LGBTQIA+ communities since 1963. The film specifically follows a group of young artists as they face conflict and exploration within their creative community. Viewers will ask themselves what safe space means, and who needs it. For more information, please contact the Center for Diversity and Social Justice at 509-963-2127 or diversity@cwu.edu.
