Washington's Law Enforcement Group Against Identity Theft (LEGIT), is excited to announce Washington's first statewide shred-a-thon to raise awareness of identity theft prevention and assist the public in keeping sensitive documents out of the hands of crooks.
Financial institutions, retailers, small businesses, nonprofit organizations across the state have volunteered to host simultaneous shredding events for the public from 10am to 2pm at locations across Washington State, including our home town of ELLENSBURG!
Commercial shredding companies will donate their time and resources to destroy sensitive documents at no charge. Police, government officials, business leaders and other experts will be on hand to answer questions and share valuable information about preventing identity theft.
Each person may bring up to three grocery bags or two banker boxes to the Super 1 Foods parking lot between 10am and 2pm.
This FREE document shredding day for the public is sponsored by LEGIT, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program and local law enforcement agencies.
