Scholar Joshua Dale Discusses Cuteness
Do you feel powerless when you see an image of a cute kitten? What makes it cute? And why do you start making funny noises when you look at it? On Monday, Oct. 5 at 4:30 p.m. in Black Hall room 152, the Douglas Honors College (DHC) Lecture Series will get serious about the power of ?cute? as it hosts Cute Studies Scholar Joshua Dale for an interactive discussion about the human response to cuteness. Joshua Dale is a faculty member of the Department of Foreign Languages and Foreign Literatures at Tokyo Gakugei University and the editor of ?Cute Studies,? a forthcoming special issue of The East Asian Journal of Popular Culture. Join the DHC for this free event and learn something about yourself and your reaction to the world around you. For more information, contact Madelyne Weber at 509-963-1900 or dhc@cwu.edu.
