Spring Flute Recital at Central Washington University
The Central Washington University Flute Choir will perform a concert of original and arranged compositions at 7 p.m. on May 5. The concert will feature
Alan Hovhannes’ ?Birds in a Magic Forest? and Crawford Gates’ ?Sails, Winds, and Echoes.?
The choir is directed by CWU Professor Hal Ott and is made up of 20 flutists ? all students in the music department. Besides the familiar orchestral flute, the choir?s members also perform on other members of the flute family, including the piccolo, alto flute, bass flute, and the rare and deep-sounding contrabass flute ? an instrument with the same range as the cello.
The concert will be in the CWU Music Building Recital Hall. Persons of disability may make arrangements for reasonable accommodation by calling 509-963-1130 or (for hearing impaired) TDD 509-963-1243.
