Summer 2026 Trailhead Ambassador Program
Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is looking for more people like you to volunteer as Trailhead Ambassadors for the 2026 summer season! As the weather warms up, Washingtonians flock outdoors. With summer being the peak season for recreation in the state, trailheads are bustling with activity! The US Forest Service Cle Elum Ranger District contains some of the state’s most popular trails, playing host to hikers, bikers, hunters, anglers, equestrians, and trail runners. Though this district is one of the most heavily used in the region, it doesn’t receive the funding it needs to support its growing popularity. With so many people exploring the landscape, there’s a lot for visitors to navigate: Which trails allow which activities? What passes are required? What trails are closed due to fire or other reasons? How do you share the trail safely and respectfully? Imagine spending a few hours at a beautiful trailhead, chatting with excited visitors, sharing your love for the outdoors, and helping people explore safely and responsibly. No experience necessary. We provide all the training and tools you need to feel comfortable and confident from your very first shift. Learn more and sign up on our website!
