Tea @ 3
On Thursday, February 11 attendees can join Nina Caldwell, Associated Students of Central Washington University?s (ASCWU) Vice President for Legislative Affairs, in the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit at 3 p.m. Attendance is free and open to the public. For Caldwell?s Tea @ 3 discussion she intends to focus on her positon within not only student government, but the Central community as a whole while actively following an ?open door? policy in hopes that students feel welcome to speak with their school representatives. "I want to make sure that it's...every person, every community member of Central Washington University being able to be heard," said Caldwell. As a senior in the Law and Justice program with a minor in Ethnic Studies, social justice is a priority for Caldwell. "Diversity plays a big role in my story,? she stated during an interview, ?especially with the struggles in my story as a woman of color and then my triumphs...? Hoping to leave a lasting impact on Central before she graduates, and realizing that involvement is key to student success, Caldwell also helped found S.I.S.T.E.R.S. and currently serves as the club?s president.
