The CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) will host Tea at 3, an engaging speaker series at CWU. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the personal experiences of CWU faculty, staff, community members and influential individuals across the state as they share their journeys to their current places in life. Attendance to each speech is free, and speeches will be held at 3 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit. Warm beverages and treats will be available for attendees to enjoy while the speakers give their talks.
The Tea at 3 Speaker Series welcomes Fabiola Serra Fuertas is currently a Biology lecturer at CWU and teaches such classes as Biology 101 and 201. In her spare time, Fuertas teaches Zumba. As a Peruvian native, she was accustomed to dancing regularly as part of the culture – whether at a restaurant, a store or just at home. In order to continue her love of dance in America – in addition to her Zumba classes – Fuertas founded TusuyPeru, a Peruvian style dance group in 2010. The name comes from “Tusuy” (Quechuan for “dance”) and “Peru,” the country of origin. TusuyPeru was responsible for organizing the Central Washington International Dance Festival held in October of last year, in addition to being present at many Pacific Northwest dance festivals across the state of Washington.
