Tea at 3 Speaker Series at CWU: Ken Briggs
The CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) will host Tea at 3, an engaging speaker series at CWU. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the personal experiences of CWU faculty, staff and community members as they share their journeys to their current places in life. Attendance to each speech is free, and speeches will be held at 3 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit. Warm beverages and treats will be available for attendees to enjoy while the speakers give their talks.
Briggs currently serves as Department Chair of the CWU Physical Education, School and Public Health, which promotes healthy and active lifestyles in students and communities. The major programs in the department have global recognition for facilitating innovative and passionate teaching, relevant research and life-enhancing services. As a professor, he is known for teaching such health education classes as Non-infectious Disease and Methods for Health Promotion. In 2006, Briggs was named the most inspirational faculty member at CWU, and received the most inspirational educator award in 2003. Briggs earned his Ed.D. from the University of Northern Colorado in Health Education in 1975.
