Tree of Love in Ellensburg
Tree of Love is a community gathering to: Remember loved ones who have died Honor those with life-threatening illnesses Honor caregivers of those with life-threatening illnesses Acknowledge community support for all those touched by life-threatening illnesses Each year in early December the Tree of Love is sponsored by Hospice Friends as a starting point for holiday celebrations. The lighting of the tree provides a way for everyone to re-focus, think of loved ones who have passed away, and reflect on the meaning of the season before holiday demands become too intense. In 2007, their will be two separate Tree of Love ceremonies, one in Cle Elum on November 30th and one in Ellensburg on December 7th and A short program with music and remembrances gives participants warmth for the evening and is followed by a walk along a lighted pathway to a reception where snacks, cookies, and hot beverages are provided. Everyone is welcome to come to this free annual tree-lighting ceremony. It is a wonderful way to share the spirit of the season and the gift of healing with loved ones.
