Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue
For one night only, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will perform live at Central Washington University. The group's New Orleans-based funk, hip-hop and rock-infused jazz style has dazzled audiences at sold out concert halls and festivals from coast to coast. Don't miss this rare opportunity to see Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews (trombone, trumpet, vocals) with bandmates Pete Murano (guitar), Mike Bass-Bailey (bass guitar), Dan Oestreicher (baritone sax), Joey Peebles (drums) and BK Jackson (tenor sax) celebrating the April 28th release of Andrews' debut album for Blue Note Records, Parking Lot Symphony. In January 2014 Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue performed at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Mary Lambert, Madonna and Queen Latifah. As the opening act for the most recent Red Hot Chili Peppers tour, the group played to a sold-out Key Arena in Seattle as well as multiple dates at Staples Center in LA. This year, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will close out the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, held April 28 – May 7, an event that welcomes more than 400,000 visitors each year.
