Unheard Voices Concert at CWU: Fighting Human and Labor Trafficking in WA
Combining live music with charitable organizations for their quarterly Unheard Voices program is just one way the CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) brings the community together for worthy causes. This quarter, CLCE has chosen to focus their Unheard Voices event on bringing awareness to Human and Labor Trafficking in Washington State, and will feature three local musicians. Thanks to CLCE's partnership with CWU Campus Activities, this event will also feature Will Evans, solo artist and songwriter and front man for the rock band Barefoot Truth. Alongside the music, members of the Northwest Justice Project and The Washington Anti-Trafficking Response Network (WARN) will be speaking, as well as members of the CWU Feminist Club and the CWU Human Trafficking Club. Come for an evening of valuable information as well as entertainment Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit. This event is free and open to the public. The musical performances will be interspersed between discussion on labor and human trafficking in Washington State. As well as joining the conversation, the Northwest Justice Project, WARN, the CWU Feminist Club and the CWU Human Trafficking Club will have tables in the Pit with information on trafficking and on how to get involved in the fight against it. For more information, please contact CLCE at 509-963-1850 or clce@cwu.edu.
