Combining live music with charitable organizations for their quarterly Unheard Voices program is just one way the CWU Center for Leadership and Community Engagement (CLCE) brings the community together for worthy causes. This quarter, CLCE has chosen to focus their Unheard Voices event on providing information about proper animal health and care, in addition to raising money for Kittitas County Friends of Animals (KCFOA), a local pet activism group. Festivities are set for Thursday, May 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the North Alder Street Park, located at 2400 N. Alder St. This event is free and open to the public, however a $5 donation or pet food donations are suggested, as all proceed will go towards KCFOA.
The event will feature musical performances by two CWU students, Monkeypotamus and John Rawlinson, including a performance by local musical group Centaur Midwife. In addition to the live music, local animal care organizations such as The Ellensburg Pet Center, Critter Care, Second Chance Ranch and the Yakima Humane Society will be tabling at the event and passing out information.
