A versatile recitalist, concerto soloist, and chamber musician, American pianist William Wolfram has garnered the respect of musicians and audiences across the country. He has performed concertos with major symphonies across the county, including the San Francisco Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, the St. Louis Symphony, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Seattle Symphony, the Grand Teton Festival Orchestra, the North Carolina Symphony, the San Luis Obispo Mozart Festival Orchestra and tmany others. Internationally, he has appeared with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the Warsaw Philharmonic, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Budapest Philharmonic, the Capetown and Johannesberg Symphonies of South Africa, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa, in Mexico, and the National Symphony of Peru. His upcoming appearances include concerts with the Baltimore Symphony and Marin Alsop (Corigliano Piano Concerto), the American Symphony Orchestra at Lincoln Center with Leon Botstein, the Phoenix Symphony with Michael Christie, and the Rochester Philharmonic with Jerzy Semkow among others. A devoted supporter of contemporary music, he has close ties with many well- known composers. His world premiere performance of the Chihara re-orchestration of Chopin?s Piano Concerto No. 1 under the baton of Andreas Delfs and the Milwaukee Symphony was met with great critical attention and acclaim: His interplay with the orchestra showed rare poise and constant equilibrium whether at breakneck speed or while settling into accompaniment. With unleashed rapture and edge-of-the-seat energy, Wolfram possessed the romantic work entirely. - Westchester Journal News Wolfram's utter command of Chopin's still formidable piano part impressed, but not as much as his musical sensitivity... The miracle of Wolfram's playing is that it is at once highly emotional and impeccably rational. - Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Persons of disability may make arrangements for reasonable accommodation by call (509) 963-1246 or (for hearing impaired) TDD 509-963-2143.
