Yakima Symphony Orchestra
The Yakima Symphony Orchestra has contributed to the musical and cultural richness of Central Washington since 1967. The orchestra, which features local, national, and international guest artists, provides its audiences with outstanding performances of symphonic and other orchestral music covering a full range of orchestral repertoire from historical staples to new works. This program, as part of the CWU Performing Arts and Presidential Speaker Series, will feature two major masterpieces of orchestral music: Bela BArtok's provocative ''Concerto for Orchestra'' and Aaron Copland's uplifting ''Clarinet Concerto'', featuring CWU alumnus and Ellensburg native, YSO Principal Clarinetist Jeffrey Brooks.
